This web page was produced as an assignment for Genetics 564, an undergraduate course at UW-Madison.
My name is Holly Heacock, and I am a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelors of Science in Genetics. I took Genetics 564 as a capstone class in order to further my knowledge of genomics, proteomics and bioinformatics and to gain skills in website building and scientific writing. In the summer of 2014, I was a Nursing Assistant at Wisconsin Lions Camp and had the experience of working with a few children with Prader-Willi Syndrome. Having never heard of the disorder before that, I had the chance to look further into it with this project. I am currently applying to Physician Assistant programs and hope to pursue medicine in a very human-based way. I am excited to see where life is taking me, and I've been blessed with everything that's helped me get where I am. If you have any questions about Prader-Willi Syndrome, or anything else, please contact me through the contact me page!
